FERRUS , SA is a business group that has dedicated its activity to the trade of steel and construction materials for over 40 years , with the primary objective of constantly meeting the needs of its customers by providing innovative products and offering a service based on efficiency and quality.

The company Socoferros, Lda, is established, with its registered office at Estrada Nacional 1, nº10, 2815 Sobreda da Caparica.
1978
December 26th
The company José Francisco Rita, Lda. is hereby established, with its registered office at Rua de Moçambique, 2º, 2430 Marinha Grande.
1981
October 22
The purchase of the company by new shareholders is recorded, while maintaining the same line of business.
1984
February 10th
The change of the company name to Ferrus is registered, as well as the change of the company's headquarters to the Vale Sepal Industrial Zone, in Leiria.
1992
December 30th
Transformation of Ferrus into a public limited company and an increase in share capital to 120,000 contos.
1995
May
Ferrus, SA acquires 70% of the share capital of Socoferros, Lda.
2004
January 1st
Ferrus, SA acquires the entirety of Socoferros, Lda, expanding its operations to three distinct locations: Leiria, Marinha Grande, and Sobreda da Caparica.
2010

A change in the shareholder structure is taking place , making Ferrus, SA part of the SolidInvest SGPS group , which has been growing since 2007 and is characterized by strong economic and financial stability. A large part of the group 's business volume is generated internationally, in the EU (Spain and France), Africa (Morocco and Angola), China and the USA.

In a search for new business segments, the company begins to market stainless steel.

The opening of the Ansião branch, due to its size, made it the main location for the supply and production of certain items.

Opening of the Abrantes branch. Since this date, Ferrus, SA has branches in Ansião, Leiria, Sobreda and Abrantes.

Expansion of the facilities of the Ferrus, S.A. branch in Ansião, introducing new, more technological and innovative capabilities in the production and processing of iron, aluminum, and stainless steel.
